Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries have been used for years in uninterruptible power supply systems, but now, the sleek, ultra-efficient and comparably priced lithium ion batteries from N1 Critical Technology are changing the UPS and battery power systems landscape.

Lithium ion has five times the energy density of a lead-acid battery, while using only one-third of the space for the same power delivering capabilities!

“With our engineers, we’ve discovered a way of producing the same power as was generated by lead acid power supply batteries but with less pollution and a smaller footprint,” said Nate Ellsworth, N1 Critical founder and CEO. “Our lithium ion batteries require less cooling while using only a third of the space and weighing about 33 percent less than bulkier lead-acid battery.”

Additionally, a VRLA battery’s operational lifespan is less than half that of a lithium counterpart. Lead acid’s operational life is also reduced high heat environments, where N1 Critical’s lithium ion batteries can tolerate high temperatures of 140ºF.

“We all know that heat can destroy most anything, and the power and lifespan of lead-based batteries is definitely impacted by heat over periods of time,” said Vice President of Sales Jeff Hansing. “However, our lithium ion battery has a service life of 10-15 years, more than twice the life expectancy of any competitor’s VRLA battery. This saves our buyers money and hassle over the long term as they won’t have to buy new batteries every five years, or so.”
